Peepers For Teachers: August 2018 Tote Donation
Peepers may be best known for fashionable eyewear, but we also see the value of giving back to the community that supports us. By partnering with a non-profit support group, The Unity Foundation, we were able to launch the Peepers for Teachers campaign, which raised thousands of dollars for area schools to help them purchase needed textbooks and supplies. That wasn’t enough for us, though. We wanted to do more to help individual teachers at the start of the new school year.
We understand that many classrooms are in need of supplies above and beyond what budgets allow, and teachers often pay out-of-pocket to purchase these supplies. So Peepers took the initiative to deliver tote bags full of goodies to teachers at three schools: Notre Dame, Marsh Elementary, and Springfield elementary. Each tote bag was stuffed with a variety of supplies, including basic necessities like pencils, sharpies, Expo markers, highlighters, Post-It notes, loose leaf paper, and construction paper, as well as useful extras like Kleenex, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and more.
Our dedicated team went above and beyond to pitch in, taking the time to carefully select items for each tote bag, packing the bags with care to ensure that each classroom would receive needed items, and then delivering the finished products to teachers to use at their discretion. At Peepers, we know that teachers go the extra mile every day to support the children in their classrooms and give them the best chance to succeed. We think those teachers deserve a little support themselves, which is why we take pride in doing our small part to contribute to the fine educational institutions and dedicated teachers in our community.
